Following the President’s announcement that a national lockdown to curb the spread of Coronavirus will begin on 27 March, our board and team have made the following decisions regarding our programmes.
During the lockdown our key personnel will continue to work from home but all youth and afterschool programmes will be suspended until it is safe to gather again. Since many community members in the Strandfontein informal settlements are unemployed, or on a “no work, no pay” basis, we have decided to ramp up our food programme in order to support the most vulnerable.
Our Food team will be on the ground on a daily basis ensuring that supplies are distributed to our various cooks and community partners to ensure that our kids receive a regular meal. We have the necessary permits to perform essential services and all safety precautions will be taken to ensure that staff and community members are protected.
Partner with us and give a gift of love to help us keep our kids and their families safe and healthy during this challenging time.
