100 Wave Challenge
Welcome to our inaugural 100 Wave Challenge, where surfing meets impact! This is more than just a day in the ocean—it’s a movement of surfers, ocean lovers, and changemakers paddling together to create brighter futures. We are honoured to be running this first-of-its-kind event in South Africa with supreme quality prizes to be won.
Inspired by an internationally-successful model, pioneered by Boys to Men Mentoring Network in California, this challenge dares surfers to catch 100 waves in a single day, all while raising funds to support vulnerable youth through surf therapy, mentorship, and education.
It’s simple: Raise a minimum of R1,000 to take part. Break it down—10 friends donating R100 each, and you’re in! But it doesn’t have to stop there. Every wave you ride helps us build hope, confidence, and resilience in the lives of young people. The best part of this event is that it’s FAMILY-FRIENDLY! Bring along the whole family for music, beach activities, art stations, drumming, sailing, expos, wellness tents and so much more!

The Challenge
Each individual or group commits to catching 100 waves and fundraising to support at-risk youth in underserved coastal communities.
Participants will be able to reach this target from sunrise to sunset. Every wave fuels our mission to provide safe spaces, mentorship, and life skills that empower kids to dream bigger.
Our goal: R100,000—because every child deserves a future filled with possibility.

How It Works
The event is open to everyone from seasoned surfers to first time surfers looking to catch their first wave. Solo Surfers would need to raise a minimum of R1000 for registration.
Groups range from 2-10 individuals and each member of the team would need to raise a minimum of R1000 per person e.g. 5 members = R5000 or more.
The R1000 registration fee can be made up of donations from friends and family using BackABuddy – entrants will receive a personalised fundraising page which they can share with their network.
Beginner-friendly option: Learner surfers can also join the challenge and will receive coaching and support with catching their waves on the day.
Why It Matters
Life isn’t easy for many of the kids we walk alongside. Safe spaces are rare, but the ocean offers healing, joy, and discipline. Through surfing, education, and mentorship, we’re building bridges to a better tomorrow.
By signing up, you’re not just surfing—you’re standing in the gap for a child who needs hope.
